The Advice Hub is an online project launched by Domestic Violence UK. It provides a wealth of information on issues relating to welfare benefits and signposts individuals to a range of local and national support groups.
It also provides access to short courses, factsheets and other helpful resources.
Domestic Violence UK CIC is a not-for-profit organisation set up to provide information, support and raise awareness on the issues of domestic and emotional abuse.
We offer the following services:
- Provide free telephone counselling sessions to individuals who have experienced domestic or emotional abuse each month using an accredited counselling agency.
- An online and mobile directory which allows individuals find their nearest specialist support organisation.
- The Vouchers For Refuge Initiative which is aimed at supporting a local refuge every quarter with vouchers,gift-cards, toiletries and other useful items.
The organisation is run by small admin team and they put in approximately 100 hours of volunteer work a week. This includes general administration, setting up telephone counselling referrals, website monitoring, online/text directory maintenance, basic counselling, creating awareness campaigns……….
We also manage a few projects and coordinates the Love Doesn’t Hurt Campaign which focuses on raising awareness on the issues of domestic and emotional abuse.
We do not receive any grants or government funding and all our operations, projects, campaigns, …… are made possible through sales from our online store (www.dvuk.org), self funding and donations from individuals who want to make a difference.
